Books Half Read

As it's late, Sydney Brillo Duodenum can't be bothered to finish a book. He's plodding through Diana West's The Death of the Grown-Up: How America's Arrested Development Is Bringing Down Western Civilization (2007). That title alone meets SBD's criteria for half a read.

SBD wants to finish the book, but the size 8 font is murder post-midnight and his eyes are already fatigued from squinting in disgust at the complete garbage backing up out of Senator Milhouse Obama's worshipped maw. In fact, it was this man-child's persistent promises to turn this country into a giant day care center that caused our host to flee to West's book.

Bottomline: we are indistinguishable from children and we elect through our culture and politics people who will satisfy our childish needs, wants, desires and demands for an increase in our allowance and desert before dinner.

If you have the time, SBD recommends the book, principally because it provides a nice survey of the deep and continuing dysfunction introduced into our social fabric by a collosal bunch of assholes coming of age in the 1960s/early 70s who now plague us in their professional lives and with their obnoxious, overindulged offspring.
